Denis Lynch continued a string of Irish successes on home soil at the Royal Dublin Horse Show in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, August 12, 2017 when he won the 24,600 JLT Dublin Stakes CSIO5* with RMF Zecile.

While Team Ireland failed to capture the FEI Nations Cup Aga Khan Trophy on Friday, seeing that title go to the United States,  Irish riders have won six of the international show jumping classes on the docket this week in Dublin. Lynch’s teammate Cian O’Connor began the day with a win in the morning’s 1.55m Accumulator with Copain du Perchet CH. And Ireland’s Greg Broderick picked up a double of wins on Wednesday and Thursday.

For Saturday’s feature 1.50m class, Lynch was successful in a 13-horse jumpoff riding Rushy Marsh Farm’s 10-year-old Holsteiner mare (Acolord x Canturo), shaving three hundreths of a second from the 2nd placed time of Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat and Cayetana. Lynch and RMF Zecile crossed the timers in 36.70 seconds to Guerdat’s 36.73 seconds.

France’s Kevin Staut and Vendome d’Anchat HDC were also double clear for 3rd place, and the next two top placings were all claimed by Ireland as well, with Richie Moloney and Jenny Rankin placing 4th and 5th.

Ireland’s success continued through one of the most popular classes of the weekend: the Land Rover Puissance. A packed crowd saw 17 entries vie for the high jump title, and after five rounds, it was Ireland’s Daniel Coyle and Ireland’s Christopher Meagahey who took joint first place honors.

Coyle rode the 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse Cavalier Rusticana (Try-Time x Cavalier Royale), and Meagahey rode the 15-year-old Irish Sport Horse Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier (Cruise On x Cavalier Royale).

Captain Geoff Curran was 3rd over four clear rounds with Dollanstown, and Anthony O’Regan was 4th over three clear rounds with Velvet Blackjack.
