France’s Patrice Delaveau won the €25,000 Prix Hermès Seiller CSI5* on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the opening day of Saut Hermès CSI5* in Paris, France.
It was a 1.50m class against the clock designed by Frank Rothenberger which saw a field of 47 riders and served as a qualifier for Saturday’s team class, Le Saut Hermes where the best 10 male riders and the best 10 female riders will form teams to jump the class.
Delaveau rode the 16-year-old Holsteiner stallion Carinjo HDC (Cascavelle X Landgraf I) in the fastest time of 56.54 seconds to earn the victory.
His compatriot Roger Yves Bost and the 14-year-old Selle Français stallion Pegase du Murier (Adelfos X Le Tot de Semilly) in 57.19 settling for the runner-up spot.
Third place was for Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer riding the 11-year-old CH gelding Leonard de la Ferme CH (Landjuweel X Indigene de Corday) in 58.80 seconds.
Belgium’s Jérôme Guery finished in 4th place riding the 15-year-old Zangersheide stallion Papillon Z (Perhaps v. Berkenbroeck X San Patrignano Cassini) in 58.98 seconds while 5th place went to France’s Philippe Rozier aboard the 12-year-old Selle Français gelding Reveur de Kergane (Hornet Rose X Elan de la Cour) in 59.04 seconds.
