Picture this: it’s a chilly morning in the hours leading up to your ride time. The scenery outside your window includes a view of the grounds where you are set to compete, and when you exit the hotel, the stables are only a minute’s walk away. You might stop in at the indoor gym for a quick workout before meeting up with your horse, or grab a quick meal at the well-stocked cafeteria. As you leave the carpeted lobby, you can hear the ring announcer calling the first class of the morning. It’s time to ride.
That visual has been made a reality at the x-bionic sphere Olympic Training Center in Šamorín, Slovakia. After a successful summer and fall outdoor tour, the facility is ready to put its sweeping indoor arenas to use, and accommodate equestrians who look to brave the weather as they transition from outdoor to indoor season.
