Bertram Allen Wins Bitburger Prize at CHIO Aachen….

Bittburger-4

Bertram Allen and Quiet Easy took first prize in Sunday morning’s Bitburger Prize Speed class at CHIO Aachen. With 34 starters, Ireland’s 19-year-old phenom Allen was in prime position to take it all and go for victory when he drew last in the order. Allen has become a specialist in speed classes, picking up speed class wins from Paris to Hamburg, to the World Cup Final. With Quiet Easy 4, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Quidams Rubin, Allen galloped into the arena with his own “quiet, easy” demeanor and calmly picked up speed as he jumped each of the 12 obstacles on course clear.

In this, his first appearance at CHIO Aachen, Allen has already made a strong impression. On Saturday afternoon he won the Jump & Drive competition with combined driving team of Boyd Excell, and with latest victory, he is in prime position to enter the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen on Sunday afternoon as one of the favorites. Allen will compete his mare Molly Malone, and will be among 40 of the best riders in the world to tackle the famed, five-star competition.

The 1 Million Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen begins at 1:30pm GMT. Check www.clipmyhorse.tv to watch online.
