British squad for St Gallen FEI 5* Nations Cup announced….

Britain’s chef d’equipe Rob Hoekstra, the World Class Showjumping Performance Manager has announced the five riders that will be travelling to St Gallen, Switzerland for the third leg of the CSIO 5* Furisiyya Nations Cup competition. The FEI 5* Nations Cup event, which takes place at the Equestrian Stadium Gruendenmoos in Switzerland, takes place between the 30th May – 2nd June 2013.  The Nations Cup competition will be held on Friday 31st May at 15:00 hrs UK time.  The Grand Prix will take place at 13:15hrs on Sunday 2nd June.

This will be Peter Charles first Nations Cup event since his outstanding performance in London, for the 2012 Olympic Games where he assisted in the win of Olympic gold for Great Britain with his excellent gelding Vindicat W, who has since been sold to the USA’s Jessica Springsteen. The last Nations Cup competition that Peter Charles competed in was the Nations Cup in Hickstead last year, where Peter competed Murka’s Nevada and finished fourth with Team GBR.

The squad selected for CSIO St. Gallen is as follows:

Peter Charles MBE, London 2012 Team Gold Medallist from Alton, Hampshire with Odie de Frevent, an 11 year old bay mare owned by Olga White and Team Murka.  Odie de Frevent will be making her debut at Top Level Nations Cup level.

Scott Brash MBE, London 2012 Olympic Team Gold Medallist from Peebleshire with Ursula XII a 12 year-old bay mare owned by Lady Pauline Kirkham and Lady Pauline Harris.

Jo Clee who is based in Belgium will be taking his own 10 year old chestnut mare Diablesse de Muze.

Laura Renwick from Maldon, Essex with Oz de Breve, an 11 year-old chestnut gelding owned by David Perry.    This will be Oz de Breve’s first appearance on a Top Level Nations Cup squad.

Guy Williams from Canterbury, Kent will be partnering Titus, a 13 year-old chestnut gelding whom he jointly owns with Charlotte Baines.

All five horses named for the squad will be making their debut on a Furisiyya 5* Nations Cup squad.
