enmark’s Emilie Martinsen plans to take a break from competition following the Longines Global Champions Tour event in Vienna, Austria in September. The Danish beauty, who has maintained a consistent career on the international circuit for many years now. Making her international debut in 2008, Emilie won the Danish Championships in 2010 aboard her lovely white stallion Cabellero. Emilie competed at her first CSI5* event when she rode for Denmark in the FEI Nations Cup Finals in Barcelona, Spain in 2010 and regards the event as one of the most memorable moments in her career.

Emilie, who now trains with American rider and trainer Normal Dello Joio and based herself in Wellington, Florida this past winter as she competed at the 2013 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival as one of the top representatives for Denmark. Emilie intends on competing in the 2014 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida this winter and will be back in the ring on American soil in order to prepare for a strong summer of competition in Europe next year.

“I will take a brake from riding for 3 months, my last show will be Vienna and then I will move to London for 3 months to enjoy the city and to travel. My horses will go to Florida and Norman dell Joio will ride them and show them a little so they are fit for when I go there after the New Year.”

We wish Emilie the very best for her planned break from competition and look forward to seeing her back in the ring soon.
