It has been confirmed that Germany’s lady on fire, Katrin Eckermann, has broken her collarbone, after a terrible fall in the Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen. The accident happened at fence six, the open water jump fence, where Firth of Lorne placed a foot in the water, causing him to fall over forward and dismount Katrin, in a similar fashion to their fall in Thursday´s Mercedes Benz Nations Cup. This time neither horse or rider walked away unscathed, and both Katrin and Firth of Lorne had to be transported out of the ring by their consecutive ambulance vehicles. The annoucement was made as she was being transported into the ambulance that Katrin was lucid and conscious, speaking with medical staff on site. Katrin was taken to the hospital where she would receive further inspection. Firth of Lorne, who looked to have difficulty putting weight on his front right leg following the accident, has been examined and as it stands, currently looks like there are no serious injuries.
