aura Kraut and Cedric in Aachen
London, England – Olympian Laura Kraut has continued to impress across international waters with her talented line-up of mounts. From Wednesday, December 19 until December 23, 2012, Kraut guided several of her mounts to top placings at the London International Horse Show Olympia. The 14-year-old grey gelding Cedric, owned by Cherry Knoll Farm, found his rightful place among the best, competing in an intense jump-off that tested both horse and rider alike.
Louis Konickx designed the 1.55m course for The Earls Court Olympia Christmas Cracker. The course consisted of 12 obstacles, and a challenging jump-off.
Kraut piloted Cedric to a spot in the jump-off after going up against 34 of the world’s top riders. The jump-off list had a total of 15 qualifiers, making for an intense final race against the clock. Each team was allowed 40 seconds to complete the short course, and the rails began to fall as the important question arose of time or accuracy.
Cedric completed the jump-off course beautifully, using his stride and quick turns to set the pace. An unfortunate rail cost the pair the win; however, their time of 34.99 seconds proved good enough for the sixth place finish.
“Cedric jumped like a stag out there,” owner Margaret Duprey commented. “He has all the heart in the world, and loves his job. He is young enough that this is only the beginning for him, and I think that we are going to have a wonderful Winter Equestrian Festival, too.”
Olympia brings out some of the world’s most avid competitors, promising an enticing competition in a battle of the best. It is apparent that Kraut and her top mount Cedric are ready for the rapidly approaching Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Kraut is on par with her athletic line-up of horses, and is leaving nothing to chance as she heads to Wellington to defend her turf at home.
