aura Kraut maintains strong lead in Global Season standings
After another excellent performance aboard Jubilee d’Ouilly, Laura Kraut quite competently maintains her lead in the Longines Global Champions Tour season rankings. The US Olympic medallist, has certainly been able to benefit by the new addition to her international string of horses, with the arrival of Jubilee d’Ouilly late last year.
The Gucci Masters was their first international event together and the 16 year old mare, previously ridden by other top riders such as Penelope Leprevost and Trevor Coyle, certainly seems to have found her final place with one of the sport’s most highly-respected horsewomen.
Laura spoke last night during the Longines Global Champions Tour Press Conference of Estoril, alongside winner, Hendrik von Eckermann. Laura, who finished eighth overall, was able to widen the gap between herself and World number one ranked rider, Christian Ahlmann, who stands in second place on the Current Season rankings.
“I try to only focus on the job at hand on the day and not worry about the points. We have a long way to go, six more competitions and I am very honored to be where I am right now. I am going to do the best I can at every event.”
Will Laura be able to maintain the lead as we now stand half way through the 2013 Longines Global Champions Tour season? Will it be another leading lady victory in Doha, Qatar or perhaps will Germany’s Christian Ahlmann make a heavy surge in Chantilly or Valkenswaard to jump to the top of the leader board. Luciana Diniz said in London, that this is her year and she is determined to win the 2013 Global Season victory as she has come close, so many times before.
