Roger-Yves Bost has withdrawn from the 2013/14 FEI Longines World Cup Finals in Lyon, France. The French European Champion has explained that following the poor form of Myrtille Pauloise and the injury of Nippon Elle at the Saut Hermes Horse Show in Paris, he has decided not to take the start of the World Cup finals in Lyon. As advised by the French coach, there will be no top WEG candidates at the World Cup Finals in Lyon this month as riders Kevin Staut, Simon Delestre and Patrice Delaveau have put the World Equestrian Games as a higher priority in their plans for the summer season.

France’s Kevin Staut will attend the World Cup Finals with Oh d’Eole as well as Silvana HDC, the mare that Staut finished in third with in last season’s World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden. Patrice Delaveau will compete with Lacrimoso HDC and Ornella Mail HDC next week in Lyon while Simon Delestre will compete his 2012 Olympic mount Napoli du Ry as well as Valentino Velvet.

With Ludger Beerbaum now attending, Germany will be the second most represented country in Lyon next week, with previous World #1 Christian Ahlmann, Western European League winner Marcus Ehning, German Champion Daniel Deusser and Lars Nieberg, attending.
