The successful, 14-year-old KWPN gelding Verdi III (Horse la Loi II x Cantus) has changed hands to a new, American home, reports the social media pages of both the seller and new owner.

Verdi III, who has competed at the international level with several riders, was owned by Spain’s Marta Ortega Perez. He most recently competed at the CSIO5* Nations Cup Final in Barcelona, Spain with Ortega Perez. Prior to that, the Spanish rider campaigned him throughout Spain and Europe since purchasing him in the spring of 2015.

Verdi III was also paired with Canada’s Tiffany Foster and formerly owned by Artisan Farms. With Foster, Verdi notched several successfully finishes, but he racked up his biggest record of wins under the saddle of Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer, who campaigned the gelding through the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

With all that top-notch international experience, Verdi III now goes to his new home in the United States, and new owner, the American junior rider Lilli Hymowitz. Hymowitz is trained by Brianne Goutal-Marteau alongside her older sister, fellow rider Cloe Hymowitz. The sisters are based in Wellington, Florida and New York City.
