Morocco Royal Tour Grows With Addition of FEI Nations Cup

Created in 2010 by High Instruction of His Majesty of Morocco the King Mohammed VI and chaired by the Prince Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, the organizing committee of the Morocco Royal Tour CSI3*-W has announced the dates of its 7th edition, that will take place from September 29th to October 16th 2016, on three successive weekends in the cities of Tétouan, Rabat and El Jadida.

– Tétouan : September 29th to October 2nd

– Rabat : October 6th to 9th

– El Jadida : October 13th to 16th

Organized by the Equestrian Royal Federation of Morocco, the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida Association and the Royal Guard, under the aegis of the FEI, the Morocco Royal Tour is ranked among the major international equestrian competitions of the world.

Highlights of this 7th edition will include: three Longines FEI World Cup Qualifying competitions rated CSI3*W;  27 total classes, including 12 counting for the Longines FEI Ranking List, totaling prize money of €531,000, or €177,000 per competition.

A CSI1* division with 18 classes is also scheduled, with total prize money of €50,000.

New in 2016, the Morocco Royal Tour will host a CSIO3* FEI Nations Cup during the Rabat stage. Last year, riders from 18 nations participated in the MRT, with 54 riders and 154 horses traveling from around the world to Morocco. Since its creation, the event has attracted Olympic, WEG and Championship riders, among them Nadja Peter-Steiner, Fabienne Daigneux Lange, Bassem Hassan, Mohamed Nasser Al Ghazali, Abdelkebir Ouaddar, Philippe Rozier, Roberto Arioldi, Dominique Handrickx, Roberto Turchetto, Emanuele Gaudiano, Stefan Eder, Olivier Robert, Pierre Jarry, Julien Gonin, and Nicolas Deseuzes.
