The summer show season is quickly approaching, and Hunter’s Moon Farm, under the guidance of head jumper trainer Olympian Mario Deslauriers, is poised for a strong effort at top competitions. Located only 28 miles from New York City on Long Island’s prestigious Gold Coast, Hunter’s Moon Farm is a 60-acre facility offering top-notch training and boarding services for riders of all levels. This year’s summer schedule will include prestigious events such as the Lake Placid Horse Shows and the Hampton Classic. Trainers Pamela Polk and Kevin Kirk will join Deslauriers as they help their clients achieve top honors in the ring.

Deslauriers joined Hunter’s Moon Farm in April of 2013 and has been working closely with the staff and the clients to prepare for the summer showing months. “I am very pleased with the move and it’s all going really well,” noted Deslauriers. “The facility is very nice and the location is great because it’s only 30 miles from the city. I have a few clients that I am teaching and everyone is very nice.”

Hunter’s Moon Farm currently has clients competing at the Old Salem Spring Horse Shows, and at the beginning of June riders will have the opportunity to attend HITS Saugerties for two weeks. At the end of June, Hunter’s Moon Farm will head to the Lake Placid Horse Shows before going north to International Bromont in Quebec, Canada. The summer wraps up with the prestigious Hampton Classic Horse Show.

“Going to the Hamptons in August will be a perfect fit for us,” expressed Deslauriers. “We’re trying to get our feet wet out there. We have a house out there and my wife Lisa is the Chairperson of the Hampton Classic, so we are very involved with that event. The last few years we have had our own horses out there, and we are looking forward to having a few stalls for our horses, as well as our clients from Hunter’s Moon Farm.”

The summer show season with Hunter’s Moon Farm will prove very exciting for the trainers and clients as they embark on a new chapter and welcome Deslauriers to their top-notch facility.
