Peter Weinberg Named to Lead Belgium’s Show Jumping Team

It is being reported that Germany’s Peter Weinberg will become the next coach of the Belgian Show Jumping Team. The Belgian federation is currently in final discussions with Weinberg as the details for a smooth transition are ironed out.

Belgium’s Dirk Demeersman voluntarily stepped down from his position as head coach last fall after two years in the role. As he told to NoelleFloyd.com in this exclusive November 2016 interview, issues with rider attitude and commitment to riding for the team were among the reasons he decided to end his contract.

Demeersman with be working with the Belgian federation and with Weinberg over the next month to ensure a smooth transition.

For his part, Weinberg is a seasoned German team rider who represented his country in many Nations Cups and international competitions for over 25 years. He lives in Aachen, Germany and has previously held a position as the German team’s assistant coach.
