After the results of the first two competitions have been calculated, it is now Steve Guerdat who tops the leaderboard going into today’s Final II. Reigning Olympic Champions Steve Guerdat and Nino des Buissonnets start on a zero score today, followed by Germany’s reigning National Champion Daniel Deusser who is carrying two penalty points. Defending Champion Beezie Madden, Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum and first-day winner Pius Schwizer of Switzerland sit together in equal third position with four penalty points each. Today is going to be a close-fought affair right to the very end, as only six penalty points separate the top 10.

Originally, thirty riders were qualified for the third and final part of this week’s Longines FEI World Cup Final. However, with Patrice Delaveau (FRA), Billy Twomey (IRL) and Kent Farrington (USA) withdrawing, only 27 will jump in today’s final competition.
