It was a big night for Spanish rider Sergio Álvarez Moya and the amazing Carlo 723, who won the most important class of this weeks’ event in La Coruña; the Telefonica Grand Prix. Just once in its’ 12 year history, has a Spanish rider won this event, and tonight, Sergio Alvarez Moya made the home-crowd proud as they listened to the Spanish Nation Anthem echo through out the Casas Novas Arena.

Sergio clearly felt that the public was behind him, as the number one ranking rider in the Western European World Cup series made no faults in the second phase. Sergio and Carlo were the fastest combination against a strong field of 35 international riders including leading lady rider Edwina Tops-Alexander, Olympic gold medalist Steve Guerdat, World Champion Philippe Le Jeune, and Olympians Ludo Philippaerts, Jeroen Dubbeldam, Pius Schwizer, Eiken Sato, Gregory Wathelet and Katharina Offel.

Second place went to French Olympic rider Michel Robert with Oh D’Eole while third place went to Switzerland’s very own Steve Guerdat.
