The highly-anticipated Springpaarden Fond Nederland auction of six top international show jumping horses closed on September 21, 2016. Run via the online auction site BVA Auctions, the horses were offered for sale by SFN ahead of schedule, due to a change in Dutch law.

SFN Zenith NOP, the current World and European Champion as ridden by Jeroen Dubbeldam, was the top-performing horse of the group. However, SFN management has revealed that it placed the final bid (of six total bids) of €850,000, as “the expected value of this horse, as was determined in advance by experts, is not in accordance with the bids. With that it has bought back this horse,” read a statement.

SFN management will now endeavor to sell SFN Zenith NOP privately.

Of the other horses, Ferrari SFN was sold to a Belgian rider, and Aquila SFN to a French rider. Djumpsina SFN was sold to Belgium’s Jos Lansink. Eloma’s Blue SFN was sold to SFN II, the second rotation of the SFN. Chuck Blue SFN received no bids and was not sold.
