In the $5,000 1.40m Winning Round II.2a at the Split Rock Jumping Tour Columbus International CSI2*, Ireland’s Michael Hutchinson and Ronaldo De La Pomme bested a field of 34 horse and rider combinations to win the feature class of the day in Ohio.

On Friday, September 20, 2017, ten partnerships qualified for the jump-off, with Hutchinson finishing in a time of 37.092s to capture the top honors.

“I have been riding Ronaldo for about six months now,” said Hutchinson. “He is from Windsor Show Stables and I am very lucky to get to ride him. It is a pleasure to even get to jump these classes. It is fantastic, we did so well today. We have to clean a bit of tack and maybe then we can take a drink to celebrate.”

Venezuela’s Emanuel Andrade advanced two mounts forward to the second round. His best effort was with Boy IV, posting double clear rounds in a time of 37.108 to secure 2nd place. It has been a successful week of competition for the Venezuelan rider, who secured multiple podium placings throughout the week, with this latest accomplishment being his 4th.

Andrade’s fellow countryman, Alejandro Karolyi, finished 3rd aboard Lincourt Gino in a time of 38.383s.
