Valkenswaard, the spiritual home of the Longines Global Champions Tour, is always a favorite with riders, owners and sponsors alike. Legend Ludger Beerbaum has been quoted saying that it is one of his favorite shows of the season! This year, Stal Tops’ private equestrian estate will host the 12th round of the Tour from August 13-16th.

The superb facilities created by Longines Global Champions Tour founder and president Jan Tops have reached new heights this year following a multi-million euro development bringing the venue up to world-class standard. Two new 12-meter-high stands are being built while a permanent grandstand area (1500 square meters) is taking shape surrounding the international arena. A permanent VIP stand (600 square feet) has also been built.

The overall look of the new development is one of international prestige, ready to host the exciting Global Champions Tour event in August. A total of 16 buildings with a total of 480 stalls have also been completed. Overall, this is an exciting development for both the Global Champions Tour and the standard of horse shows in the Netherlands.

Last year’s Grand Prix saw a sparkling victory for Germany’s Christian Ahlmann and Codex One. The year before that, Brazil’s Doda de Miranda won the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Valkenswaard aboard his Olympic mount AD Rahmannshof’s Bogeno. It will be exciting to see who will take home the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard title of the 2015 season.
