Luciana Diniz and Fit for Fun 13 Bow Out of WEG: 'It Was Not an Easy Decision'

Luciana Diniz and her 14-year-old Rio Olympics partner, Fit for Fun 13, will not be making the trip to the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC in two weeks. Diniz has made the decision to keep "Fitty" at home after considering the mare's competition load this season.

From Luciana:

“It was not an easy decision to make, believe me. So many people [are] asking me why I am not going. I know that my horse Fit for Fun is one of the best horses in the world and until now we have been placed in all the Grand Prix’s we rode together this summer.

I am very grateful to have her.

I know that it’s hard for Fitty to keep fit for fun for so many days in a row because she always gives her very best every time she comes on the course. Since I love her so much and respect her, I want to see her happy and healthy for many more years.

That’s why we will stay home. We chose our show calendar based on single shows during the year aiming more the Grand Slam circuit, which means, four nice challenges per year.

Also, since I am not going to the WEG, I decided to offer a LUCIANA DINIZ GROW RIDE Event in Germany from the 18th to 22nd of September to share the secrets of my success with motivated and passionate riders.”

While we will miss seeing this incredible duo in Tryon, we have the utmost respect for Luciana's horsemanship. Here's to many more years of success for Luciana and Fitty.
