Olympic veteran Alberto Michan of Mexico has relocated to Wellington, Florida to partner with Ilan Ferder Stables, ending his seven-year partnership with La Silla Stud.

Aboard La Silla horses, Michan has enjoyed an extremely successful career, with two appearances at the FEI World Cup Jumping Finals, Team Bronze at the 2011 Pan American Games, and a remarkable Individual 5th place finish in the 2012 London Olympics.

In 2015 Ferder ended his partnership with American rider Kirsten Coe, who had been the rider for his string of top international mounts for the last five years. Coe’s track record of success aboard Ferder Stables-owned horses included a top-20 finish at the 2015 FEI World Cup Jumping Final with Baronez, and a 4th place this past October in the $150,000 Longines World Cup Jumping Qualifier CSI4* Grand Prix with Czardas Z at Del Mar, California.

This week at the opening competition of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Michan, who now takes over the ride on Czardas Z, Baronez, and Warrant, began competing those horses and others from Ferder’s top string of grand prix mounts and sale horses.

Michan’s La Silla-owned grand prix horses Carusso La Silla and Camilo LS La Silla will remain in Europe, where they will now be ridden by World and European Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam of The Netherlands.
