Cassio Rivetti and Cian O’Connor Out of Individual Final at Aachen 2015
Cassio Rivetti’s Vivant of The Ukraine and Cian O’Connor’s Good Luck of Ireland will not contest the Final Individual rounds of the 2015 European Championship on Sunday afternoon at Aachen. Vivant and Rivetti (pictured above) stood in Individual 2nd place after Saturday’s Team Final, but Vivant failed to pass the 2nd vet inspection and was not approved to move forward to the Individual Final.
O’Connor, who lodged a protest on Friday evening for ring interference during his Team Final round, stood in 21st place on the Individual Final order. O’Connor and Good Luck incurred four faults in their Team Final round, pushing them down in the standings and leading O’Connor to make the decision to save his horse for another day. Good Luck, a BWP stallion (Canturo x Furuioso II), was the only 9-year-old to qualify for the Individual Final. O’Connor’s protest was denied by the FEI, and Team Ireland Equestrian is currently investigating further avenues to pursue the matter.
