Copernicus stables has confirmed the arrival of the lovely Apollonia to their stables today in Belgium. The 11 year old Danish-bred mare is the exciting new addition to the Copernicus team and will be ridden by USA’s Audrey Coulter this season. “I’m very excited about the new addition to Copernicus Stables! Apollonia is an amazing horse and I cannot wait to see what we can do together” said Audrey Coulter from her US-base today.

Apollonia will compete with Coulter’s trainer Harrie Smolders for the initial weeks until Coulter arrives in Europe for her summer season. Apollonia will join the likes of Capital Colnardo, who was also acquired by Copernicus Stables from Mauritias this year as part of Coulter’s top international string.

Apollonia made a huge impression at last year’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy with Stefanie Bistan.  Jumping clear in the initial qualifiers, Bistan and Apollonia made it through to Saturday’s top thirty round. Following the World Equestrian Games, Ecurie de Meautry acquired the 11 year old mare for Portugal’s Luciana Diniz to ride.
