Ireland’s Darragh Kenny picked up his second win of the week at London Olympia on Monday, December 19th when he was best in the Holly Speed Stakes with Fixdesign Funke van ‘t Heike.

Kenny, who also won Friday’s Snowflake Stakes aboard the same horse, continued his winning ways in The Holly Speed Stakes 1.45m CSI5*. The competition drew a high-performing startlist of 23 entries in which no rider had more than two rails down. The nine clears at the top split hairs on fractions of time to settle the top placings; Kenny rode the 11-year-old BWP mare (Action Breaker x Grandeur) over the track in the winning 46.78 seconds.

William Funnel of Great Britain rode Billy Angelo into 2nd place on 47.92 seconds, and Cian O’Connor placed 3rd for Ireland with Be Gentle in 49.37 seconds.

The Holly Speed Stakes served as the penultimate international show jumping competition at the 2016 London International Horse Show, with the famed Olympia Grand Prix still to come this afternoon.
