Denmark’s Emilie Martinsen has announced her retirement from the sport of show jumping. Martinsen represented Denmark in the 2011 European Championships and qualified for the 2012 FEI World Cup Finals. The 2010 Danish Champion announced to friends and family this week that she has decided to hang up her boots for the moment, electing to spend more time on her work outside the sport of show jumping.

With her involvement as majority shareholder of IC Group, composing of Tiger of Sweden, Designers Remix, Malene Birger and Peak Performance, Martinsen looks to have a busy year ahead. “It has been 15 amazing years with horses and I have learned so much about life. I am very happy and excited to go do other things now” said Emilie today from London.

Nick dello Joio will compete Emilie Martinsen’s Danish Champion Caballero until his retirement for breeding. The remainder of her team of horses have become available for sale and will compete on the Winter Equestrian Festival circuit in Florida.
