It is awards season at the FEI with our annual FEI Awards Gala Evening fast approaching. Each day this week we have been announcing the shortlist from our 5 categories, Longines Rising Star, Reem Acra Best Athlete, Best Groom, Against All Odds and FEI Solidarity.

With so many worthy nominees already announced for our FEI Awards within the Reem Acra Best Athlete, Against All Odds, FEI Solidarity and Best Groom categories we now look to our sport’s future stars in the Longines Rising Star Award to round up the week.

“Supporting the up-and-coming athletes in the sports Longines is involved in has been a high priority for the brand for the past few years”, said Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice-President and Head of International Marketing. “These young talents are the future of their discipline and will be part of the development and influence of the sport across the globe.

With her career to date decorated with medals and top level honours, Irma is certainly one to watch. At 21, she is the current European Champion for Young Riders in Jumping. Riding Cornet 39, they were the only combination to finish on a double clear in the final competition. On the road to the Europeans, Irma also competed in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ in Sopot (POL) winning the Grand Prix at the event. Irma was one of the Young Riders to qualify for the Young Rider Cup Final at Gothenburg Horse Show 2012 where she ended up third in the final. She has been awarded the Gothenburg Horse Show Foundation scholarship to promote her future education as a rider and after her championship title also received a personal invitation for Gothenburg Horse Show 2015.
