Jur Vrieling of the Netherlands won the €27,500 De Telegraaf Prijs on Friday Janurary 27 at Jumping Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

It was a two rounds 1.50m class where 13 riders out of the 48 starters advanced into the second round and only four of them managed to complete a double clear.

Vrieling was the fastest double clearer and earned the win aboard the 11-year-old BWP stallion VDL Glasgow v/h Merelsnest (Nabab de Reve X Darco) stopping the timer’s in 33.15 seconds.

Spain’s Manuel Fernández Saro finished in 2nd place aboard his Olympic mount, the 13-year-old SBG gelding U Watch (President X Nabab De Reve) with a time of 33.75 seconds that for sure made a good finish as the day was also his birthday.

Third place went to Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano and the 8-year-old OS stallion Chalou (Chacco Blue X Baloubet du Rouet) in 34.19 seconds.

Holland’s Frank Schuttert and the 9-year-old Westfalian stallion Chianti’s Champion (Champion Du Lys X Capitol I) finished in 4th place in 37.90 seconds while 5th place was for Ireland’s Bertram Allen riding the 10-year-old BWP stallion Hector van d’Abdijhoeve (Cabrio van de Heffinck X Utrillo van de Heffinck) after riding a steady clear in 43.29 seconds but carrying one time fault from the first round.
