The French Equestrian Federation has announced that Penelope Leprevost’s Mylord Carthago will be retired next month. The French-bred stallion, silver medalists at the 2010 World Championships in Kentucky and the 2011 European Championships, will enjoy his retirement ceremony at the 2014 Gucci Masters in Paris, France next month.

In 2014, Mylord Carthago*HN carried off a test in CSIO5* Grand Prix of La Baule and ranked in several international tests among which were the Nations Cup of Aachen and the Grand Prix of Chantilly. However, the beginning of cervical osteoarthritis diminishes the possibilities of the fourteen-year-old stallion to continue competition at the international level. Taking this into consideration, Mylord Cartho’s owner and his rider, Pénélope Leprevost, decided to put an end to the stallion’s international sporting career, so that he may concentrate on his duties as a breeding stallion.
