Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Sharbatly acquired more than one horse during the Eurocommerce auction for a total amount of €393,000. According to Dutch sport reports, Sharbatly acquired Callahan (Contendro x For Pleasure), Wout-Jan van der Schans’ ride Sacramento (Leendert x Corlando) and Albert Voorn’s 14 year old gelding Tobalio (Numero Uno x Jacorde).

All three horses have represented the Netherlands with great success. Callahan won the 5* Grand Prix in Stockholm in November 2013 with Gerco Schröder while Tobalio and Albert Voorn were members of the winning Dutch Nations Cup team in La Baule in May 2013. The three horses were acquired for a total sum of €393,000 for the Saudi Olympic Team Bronze medalist and 2010 WEG Individual Silver medalist.

The final winning bid prices came as a surprise to some. New Orleans’ final bidding price came to €210,000, Callahan was acquired for €180,000 and Seoul for €307,500.
