T

he devastation caused by the uncontrollable Australian bushfires is hard to fathom. Millions of acres have been torched and according to University of Sydney estimates, over 1 billion animals have perished since the fires began in September. New South Wales has been hit the hardest, but there is no end in sight as the country’s summer is just beginning.

The equestrian community has shown time and time again that it can band together in the toughest of times, and this is no exception. Several equestrian businesses and brands are teaming together to encourage and collect donations to aid the control and massive recovery efforts that Australia faces in the coming months and years.

1. The Equestrian Bushfire Relief Initiative. The Riders Pod has teamed up with several equestrian businesses on a donation drive for those affected by the Australian bushfires.

They’re asking for donations to be made directly to registered organizations (like the Rural Fire Services, Emergency Fund for Wildlife, Country Fire Authority, etc.).

Once you’ve donated, just email or DM the receipt of your donation to @theriderspod to go into their drawing of prizes from businesses like Voltaire Design, Tribe Equestrian, Bare Equestrian, NOELLE FLOYD, Marco & Co., and many more. The full list of raffle items is on @theriderspod Instagram and entries are accepted through January 17.

2. Equine Warriors Society. BOTORI Equestrian, Hunt Seat Paper Co., and Dreamers n’ Schemers socks have teamed up to create adorable pins and socks for sale at 11 different retailers (tagged here), sending 100% of the profit to WIRES Wildlife Rescue (WWR). To date, almost $10,000 has been raised through this effort for WWR, which is the largest wildlife rescue organization in Australia. T-shirts and mugs have been added to this effort as well via Dapplebay Co.

Note: The pins will only be sold through Sunday, so act fast on this one!

3. Marco & Co. are donating 100% of profits from their gratitude journal during the month of January to the Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Rural Fire Service (RFS). The journals are $39.00 AUD + shipping and can be purchased here. Check out their IG post for more information as well.
